TMNZ CEO Chris Cunniffe borrowed a phrase or two from Martin Luther King and John F Kennedy when he took part in a debate organised Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand in Auckland last November.
The topic of discussion was how New Zealand tax policy settings need to meet the challenges imposed by demographic shifts, societal change and the sharing economy.
Chris was on the winning team alongside Vend Global Tax Manager Mengfei Gao and Deloitte’s Jeremy Beckham.
Jeremy was a finalist in last year’s tax policy competition run by the Tax Policy Scholarship Charitable Trust.
Below is video of the full debate, where Chris mixes a little bit of Martin Luther King and JFK during his closing argument.
