Four Tax Management NZ (TMNZ) staff members have raised more than $1600 for Oxfam New Zealand after walking 50km and nearly 14 hours in Whakatane last weekend.

Joanna Overall, Kaytlyn Brown, Penny Trent and Rueben Pathmanathan participated in the Oxfam Trailwalker event on 2-3 April.

The team, aptly named Commissioner’s Discretion, started its 50km walk at 6am, crossing the finish line at around 7.55pm.

As of Tuesday morning, they have raised $1646. Their target is $2000.

Money raised from the walk will go towards the work Oxfam New Zealand does in the world’s poorest countries.

The charity is hoping to raise $1 million during Oxfam Trailwalker. Donations can be made until 1 May.
