In the lead-up to Christmas last year, TMNZ gave our clients the gift of giving by letting them choose how much we donated to charity.
We have decided to show the same festive season spirit in 2016 after receiving such a positive response. You may have seen a story in the New Zealand Herald about this recently.
TMNZ plans on donating $10,000 to three charities – Starship Foundation, Kidney Kids NZ and KidsCan – this Christmas.
Each charity will receive from us a minimum donation of $2000. Your vote will determine how the remaining $4000 is allocated.
Why these charities?
Our staff members suggested charities with which they had a personal connection or thought might resonate with clients.
These were compiled into a list and staff used a preferential voting system to rank their preferences.
Starship Foundation, Kidney Kids NZ and KidsCan proved the most popular.
Last year, TMNZ made donations to Women’s Refuge ($3600), Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand ($3600) and Breakfast Club ($2800).
We encourage you to help spread a little Christmas cheer by making sure you vote.
You can make your choice by voting here. Voting closes at midday on 23 December and TMNZ will be in touch in the New Year to let you know the results.
This initiative is part of the continued work TMNZ is doing with charities through its Smart Donation service, and our core belief of giving back to the wider community in which we operate.
